How It Turned Out

I'm joining Zoe at "Uncharted" for Six Sentence Stories where our cue this week is "turn"...

How It Turned Out

My life hasn't turned out as I expected; certainly not the way I planned
In youth I dreamed of adventure, and career plans that seemed very grand

But life took me other directions, and I let people lead me astray
Struggles replaced grand adventures; lessons were learned on the way

Maybe I could have done better if I'd stuck to the plan in my head
But then I wouldn't be who I am now, so I'm glad it went this way instead

    1. A total surprise for me too, Patricia. I am content with where I am, though I do wish at times I would have made better choices, so things would be a bit easier for us now.

    1. Very true! Our story isn't finished until we take our last breath, and we never know what things could yet become a part of it. I am always curious as to what other experiences life might still hold for me.
