I find that this it true of me as well. I don't really like to share my thoughts as often when I do I am challenged or questioned. I prefer to talk to myself :)
I often fall prey to this. I make a lot of plans in my head and then don't follow through. I find that if you write them down and then I keep a notebook I am far more apt to follow through with what I planned
I read today that we can plan all we want, but we have to set a behavior in our minds, an actual step to be taken or the plans will fall to the wayside. I always know what I want to do or should do, the question is, what WILL I do to get there? I think I'm going to plan one behavior/one step for the next day and then DO IT!
I can so relate! I tend to plan and plot and sit. I am trying to get something accomplished every day...even it's a small thing. I am keeping a journal of what I do each day. Maybe that will help.
A journal would definitely make it very clear, I suspect my pages might look a little skimpy and it's my intention to begin to remedy that, I am considering reversing my morning plans and afternoon plans... work first, then play. :-)
Truthfully, my pages have lots of blank spaces on them but I am getting a little bit better at actually doing the things I plan. Work before play...revolutionary thought! :)
LOL, Patricia. Sadly, it's a very traditional concept that I have ignored for much too long. The occasional dessert before dinner is fun, but if one never gets to the dinner there might be a problem with the plan! :-)
If I followed thru on even a forth of the plans I contemplate, Val, even I would be amazed at what I could accomplish. I think I need to designate some times for writing, etc. Before I wasn't really able to do that, because I was too tired after a day of work, and not willing to rise any earlier. I know that I've been blessed with this time, so I need to use it well.
My mind is often wrapped around a story, my grocery list and where I have to get the kids to next!! LOL It's not wonder it's hard to actually get those stories out of my head on onto paper.
I really don't now how moms with young children ever find a time when their brain can focus on the task at hand and isn't already worn out for the tasks of the day. I think you juggle it all amazingly!

I can totally relate to that, Brenda! In fact I think I'll write a bit more about it for tomorrow's post.:-)

DeleteI am easily distracted as well. I have some ideas for writing swimming around in my head. I need the discipline to sit down and JUST DO IT!
