This has been a happy week for me, as I look forward to my plane trip to Nashville tomorrow. It's also been a little stressful trying to get everything ready, not only for me but for the Papa Bear and furkids, who will be at home in my absence. I am not as organized as I once was, or perhaps I just experience more anxiety about such things than I used to. At any rate, I am so very thankful for this upcoming visit and the opportunity to spend time with my children. I am also deeply thankful for Papa Bear who is happy for me, and does not grumble about being left to fend on his own for a week or about taking on the responsibilities of caring for our inside and outside cats. He is such a blessing!
I am also happy and so thankful to report that my daughter's house is finally ready to be placed on the market this weekend. Please pray that she gets a good offer quickly so that she can move to Dallas to join her husband there. It's been a long, stressful process for her to handle all on her own and she is understandably tired. Our week together will be fun and should be a good distraction from the stress. I encourage her to focus on the outcome rather than getting bogged down in the anxieties of the process, easier said than done for all of us. :-) All prayers will be appreciated.
I am thankful that my son and his girlfriend were able to schedule a view days vacation this week for a getaway to the beach in Florida, they both love the ocean like I do. They put in long work hours and were due for a break. They are headed back to Nashville today, a long drive but so worth it.
I am thankful to report that the feral kitty trio who visit our deck each day are doing well and finally starting to fill out a little, thanks to a good diet, and flea/worm treatment. Andy, the bravest of the bunch runs to greet me every time I come out, and loves to be petted and rubbed. Tom also comes quickly but is a little unsure about being touched yet. Smoky is more shy, but also very handsome with his all-gray fur coat and green eyes. Our inside furkids love to watch them through the window!
I am thankful for a husband who tracked down the UPS delivery truck on his way home from work last night and showed them where we live. They have been delivering our packages to the house down the street this week, despite the fact that our house number is clearly visible on the front of our house! Hopefully today's packages will now be delivered correctly. The drivers must be new, since we've never had this problem before, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
I am thankful and delighted that the online supporters of Mac's Mission rallied to help them win not one, but two large corporate donations by voting on the corporate pages. Mac's Mission does wonderful work in rescuing and saving dogs who would otherwise not have a chance at life. It is fun to see what can be accomplished when individuals work together for a common cause. I also support Mac's Mission through my Amazon Smile purchases. If you are an Amazon shopper, please dedicate your purchases to one of the many charities through the Amazon Smile program. Every dollar makes a difference and it costs you nothing extra.
I am thankful to report that my sisters are once again communicating, and hopefully both will mind their manners and get along. I would like to cross this item off my prayer list for good someday! :-)
I am thankful that my husband's daughter was able to secure better housing for herself and her two children this week. The situation they've been living in was anything but good, now maybe they will have a chance to start rebuilding their lives. My heart aches for all those kids have been put through.
I am thankful to wake up one more day and find that our President has not (yet) engaged us in a war with another unstable leader. It is a fearful situation and I hope and pray along with you that this can be resolved and we can move away from the brink of destruction. Peace is always the answer.
On that note, I'd better get back to washing, packing, and planning. As I noted on the TToT blog, I will be reading your posts while I am away, and next week's link-up is scheduled to appear on time, but I won't likely have time for commenting until I return home next Saturday night, so please bear with me, and visit each other's pages and leave comments! I hear fairly often that those who post later rarely get many visitors, and that is sad. Sharing our thankfuls is what this is all about!

Hi Josie, here I am in my new guise. I hope you have a wonderful time with your children. Your husband and the furkids will miss you and no doubt be pleased to see you when you get home :)
ReplyDeleteIt's Jo by the way! I don't know how to make it recognise my new name!
DeleteSometimes Blogger is a real pain about identities, thank you for telling me it's you! :-) I did indeed have a wonderful time, and coming home again was nice too.
DeleteBon Voyage! May this visit be a blessing to all of you!
ReplyDeleteThe trip was a blessing in so many ways, Mimi... that's the topic of my latest TToT post! :-)
DeleteHey! Have fun. Take a lot of photos. Let the change in scenery/surroundings/routine do it's work, which is to allow you recharge. (A friendly setting different than the everyday has that capability).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the weekly success of getting this boat away from the dock each weekend!
I had a wonderful time and it was definitely a time of recharging too... I am in love with all those trees! :-) I was so happy to see people continuing to post in my absence these past two weekends, what an awesome bunch of bloggers you all are!
DeleteVery nice list of things to be thankful for. I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter and that her house sells quickly. That is wonderful that Papa Bear will be taking care of the indoor and outdoor kitties, at least you won't have to worry about them. I am very fearful of a war and pray it doesn't come to that. XO
ReplyDeleteIt couldn't have been a nicer trip, and Papa Bear couldn't have done a better job with the furkids and house, he is amazing! I think we are all on edge about the possibilities of war these days, and I continue to pray for peace.
DeleteI hope you have a wonderful week! I will certainly keep your daughter in my prayers. Selling a home is a stressful (and prayful!) experience. We are hoping for a buyer soon, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was a truly blessed week, Kristi. Her home sold immediately, an amazing blessing we weren't expecting. I will continue to pray that yours sells very soon too, such a tremendous relief when it happens!
DeleteI hope you are having a wonderful time away and with your kids. And it surely is a plus to know that you haven't left a grumbling man back at the homestead :D Now, the furkids might be another story. I wouldn't be surprised if they let you know upon your return that, while Papa Bear took good care of them, you on the other hand never should have left! LOL
ReplyDeleteGood news about your daughter's house. Add me to the prayer list :)
Thank you for the link to Mac's Mission. Will check it out after posting this comment. Any organization that helps animals (especially dogs!) get a second chance at life is a cause dear to my heart.
It was such a great week, the time with my kids was a true blessing. Papa Bear did amazing kitty care, and while they all came running to greet me, Sophie our elder queen let me know by about thirty minutes of pouting that she wasn't amused by my absence before she came to snuggle up. :-)
DeleteThat my daughter's house sold immediately was beyond a doubt due to the power of prayer and God saying that it's finally time for her to move on to the next chapter of her life.
Mac's Mission is one of my favorite charities because they love pitbulls (who are so unfairly branded) and they take in the ones everybody else gives up on and give them a real chance for life and always love. The transformations are amazing!
Getting ready for a trip, any trip, is stressful. Packing means something exciting is about to happen, but first comes the stress.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are now passed that and are off to enjoy a week with your children.
I am sure your man and cats will miss you and take care of each other until you get back.
Have a wonderful time.
Getting everything organized at home for a week away was stressful, but upon arriving at the airport I was able to let that go and just enjoy the ride and the wonderful week ahead! My flights went so smoothly, couldn't have hoped for better. More than once I thought of you making your way through unfamiliar airports all on your own! <3
DeletePapa Bear and the furkids missed me a bunch, he sent love notes and photos every day. I wish I could clone him, he's one in a million!
